909 San Dieguito Drive in Historic Encinitas, California — an eleven-minute walk to Moonlight Beach, 12 minutes to Swami's surf break, and 30 minutes from downtown San Diego.

How many guests can stay at the cottage?

Maximum 3 guests at all times, per our City of Encinitas Short-Term Rental Permit (#RNTL-000167-2013). This includes day visitors — no exceptions.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Accepted Answer

Check-in is 3:00 PM, check-out is 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is rarely possible due to cleaning turnover. Arrival details are provided in your Guest Center.

Is parking included?

Yes — the driveway fits 2 vehicles at no additional cost. Legal street parking is also available on San Dieguito Drive. Maximum 2 vehicles per City Permit.

What beach and bike equipment is provided?

The Sand Shack includes 2 Shaka electric beach cruisers with helmets, surfboards, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and beach towels — all complimentary. Guests sign a brief waiver before first use.

Is there WiFi?

Yes — 2.3-gigabit fiber internet (property-wide 'PBC' network, 5GHz available). Password provided in your Guest Center at check-in.

Are pets allowed?

Pet free. The residence is kept free of animals so it stays clean for guests with allergies.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Full refund 60+ days before check-in (less $75 admin fee), 50% refund at 30-59 days, deposit + 50% of remaining balance retained at 14-29 days, no refund inside 14 days. Force-majeure credits available for natural disasters. Travel insurance strongly recommended.

Can I host a party, wedding, or event at the cottage?

No. The property is for residential vacation use only — no parties, weddings, or company events, per City of Encinitas Short-Term Rental ordinance. Family gatherings within the 3-person maximum are welcome.
